HASLEMERE a member society of NADFAS |
|
WELCOME TO THE HASLEMERE BRANCH OF NADFAS
Haslemere DFAS was founded in 1971 and after 40 years our Society is still full of energy and enthusiasm, with nearly 300 members. Every year we have a packed programme of events and monthly lectures on a wide variey of arts topics. Lecturers are selected from the NADFAS directory and are chosen for their expert knowledge and ability to present their subject in an informal and entertaining way. In addition to the lectures, we run a series of study days and several outings a year to places of historical and artistic interest. Trips abroad are also organised on an irregular basis. |
|
This year Albrecht Dürer, Inigo Jones, Vermeer, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Thomas Rowlandson are in the spotlight. Lectures take place on the third Tuesday of the month (except July and August) at Haselmere Hall. |
Study Days take place at the Haslemere Educational Museum. The day will either include 2 lectures with coffee and biscuits or three lectures with coffee and biscuits and lunch. |
Outings are arranged several times a year. The day-long trips include transport by coach, leaving from and returning to Haslemere Hall. |
|
Young Arts activities aim to inspire children with a lasting enthusiasm for the arts. HDFAS sponsors local art competitions, individual 'A' Level students and group activities for children. |
HDFAS helps maintain display cabinets at the Haslemere Educational Museum and has sponsored conservation projects. |
A church recording group has been formed to record the contents and furnishings of St. Bartholomew's, Haslemere. This is the second church record to be undertaken by HDFAS. |
