8th December: Christmas Tea
After the December lecture, Christmas Tea was served in the Annexe complete with wine, tea and a variety of festive cakes.

28th November: Official opening of Waiting Room Art Display

An official opening took place at the Station of a permanent Art Exhibition highlighting the artwork of local school children which has been organised by HDFAS Young Arts..

Tuesday 17th November: AGM
The 44th Annual General Meeting took place at Haslemere Hall prior to the November lecture.

Saturday 14th November: Charities Fair at Haslemere Hall
HDFAS took a table at the 32nd Charities Fair, organised by BLISS, the premature baby charity. All the members of the committee (some of whom can be seen below) helped spread the word about the society's activities, talking to passers by and handing out leaflets.

Tuesday 10th November: Presentation of a Tailor's Dummy specially made for the Haslemere Educational Museum

Costumes from the ethnographic collection will be displayed on the dummy.
Present were Sarah Barnes, HDFAS Chairman, Anna Hawtree, the Heritage Volunteer, and Alison Marston, the Vice Chairman and Programme Secretary. Representatives from the Museum, receiving the gift, were Julia Tanner, Curator, Lindsay Moreton, Collections Manager, and Kay Topping, Education Officer.

Friday 16th October: NEW MEMBERS COFFEE MORNING at the MUSEUM

New members, who joined the society during 2015, got together with HDFAS' President, Mrs Roscelin Rees, and some members of the committee.

Wednesday 30th September: STUDY DAY WITH JUDY RUDOE

Jewellery in the age of Queen Victoria

Members were invited to bring along their jewellery.
Below are photographs taken by Anna Hawtree of Judy Rudoe during the process of arranging the pieces for discussion.




20th - 25th September: FOREIGN VISIT
HOLLAND, THE RIJKSMUSEUM AND THE DUTCH MASTERS

Highlights of the visit included The Hague, the Mauritshuis, Panorama Mesdag, the Rijksmuseum and a Canal cruise in Amsterdam, the Royal Palace of Het Loo, Kröller–Müller Museum, the Koninklijke Porcleyne Fles, Vermeer Center and Ghent.

Tuesday 19th May: OPEN MEETING at Haslemere Hall

As part of the Haslemere Festival, HDFAS had an Open Meeting on 19th May which included a short presentation, Getting to know NADFAS,
and a lecture by Barry Venning entitled Paintbrushes at Dawn: the World’s Greatest Artistic Feuds. Dr Florian Schweizer, CEO of NADFAS,
was present and talked about the aims of NADFAS.
